About the Artist

Painting, for me, is a rambunctious escape to places that live in my mind. I make paintings about places in my travels that have taken my breath away: the Italian countryside, to a day at the beach in Hawaii, to dazzling vistas of Montana.  I explore what the sensation would feel like to be in that landscape, a captured moment in time.

The central theme to my paintings is the use of color: I paint landscapes with acrylic using all colors of the visible spectrum. The moment I begin, the world softens at the edges and slips away, replaced by something brighter, lighter—full of color and a kind of easy joy.

Time becomes irrelevant. The usual worries—the emails, the errands, the small, nagging concerns of the day—simply fall silent. In that space, everything feels possible. It’s a gentler world, one without heaviness or discouragement, where even the simplest scenes carry a sense of calm and hope.

And I suppose that’s why my work looks the way it does. You won’t find much darkness there. Instead, there are bright colors, cheerful places, and moments of quiet beauty—the kind you might wish you could step into, if only for a little while.
